DOT 5.1

Heat is the enemy of any brake system. Better heat management also makes your journey much safer. We found out that with DOT 5.1 it takes three times longer than with DOT 4 until the boiling point is reached. This ensures smooth and never-ending braking under even more extreme conditions.

Expandable Bladder
SRAM's new brake lever design includes a new bubble shape that regulates and reduces air bubbles. The bladder is specially shaped to pump air out of the lever and transport the liquid exactly where it is needed. The result is improved back pressure relief for reliable and constant braking performance.

PiggyBack Reservoir
The brake fluid reservoir in SRAM's current lever design is designed for optimum performance and easy handling. The PiggyBack reservoir provides a simple and safe solution for controlling the brake fluid and also allows the levers to be mounted on both sides - so you can swap your levers on the handlebars and brake as easily as on a motorcycle.

Timing Port Closure
The synchronisation opening of a hydraulic brake is the connection between the reservoir and the main cylinder bore. When the lever is used, a cup cuff passes through this area and closes the opening, putting pressure on the system. SRAM's new TPC Plus system for closing the synchronisation port features durable seals and an ultra-soft cylinder bore surface for reliable and consistent braking performance.
