Alpina Eye-5 HR VL+ Glasses white matt-black/black (2020)

With the Alpina Eye-5 HR VLM+ you get sports glasses with an independent design and highly functional lenses. Thanks to the half frame, the range of application is flexible and the glasses are suitable for a variety of sports. The range of use is even wider thanks to the self-tone (photochromatic) Varioflex technology. It automatically adjusts the lens tint. This provides ideal visibility in both sunny and cloudy weather conditions. The protection levels Cat. 1 to 3 are covered.

A fogstop coating on the inside ensures that the lens does not fog up. The surface is roughened on a microscopic level. This prevents moisture from combining and the panes from fogging up. In addition, water and dirt roll off more easily thanks to the hydrophobic coating on the outside - a perfect view is thus guaranteed at all times. The mirror coating reflects infrared rays and thus reduces the strain on the eyes. The Alpina Eye-5 HR VLM+ offers 100% UV protection.

Varioflex Fogstop
Varioflex is a glass technology in which the tint of the glass automatically adapts to the weather. The self-tinting (photochromic) screen reacts to visible light. When irradiated, chemical elements open and produce a flat, darkening effect. If the light intensity decreases, the chemical elements close and the disc becomes brighter again. This process takes place in a matter of seconds. The result: one glass for the most varied lighting conditions.

Fogstop is a coating on the inside of the lenses. The coating is not smooth, but rough - even "fissured" on a microscopic level. As a result, the droplets have no possibility of forming a closed layer, i.e. fogging up and thus obscuring the view. This would only happen if the moisture managed to fill the fissures with water. Before this happens, however, the deposited moisture has long since condensed and visibility remains clear.
