Water-resistant, highly breathable and 100 % windproof. Windproof Green is Vaude`s ecological answer to conventional shell material. The Windproof Green membrane does not contain PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and replaces currently oil-based PU (polyurethane) with a minimum of 25 % renewable or recycled raw materials. This provides significant benefits in terms of energy and resource consumption.
Recycled coffee grounds is converted into a high-tech material, known as S.Café, by means of a patented method. S.Café is fast-drying, odour-inhibiting, UV resistant and environmentally friendly.
Vaude products bearing the Eco Finish been waterproofed in an environmentally-friendly way without fluorcarbons (PFC). PFCs are part of a group of chemical compounds which are used to waterproof the outer layer of many outdoor products. They have come under criticism for being non-biodegradable, bioaccumulative and toxic, and suspected of being harmful to health. Vaude has made a clear commitment to completely renouncing PFCs.
